New Industrial Thermostats

Written by: George Evans

The latest additions to the PROSTAT thermostat range are now available from stock and can be ordered from your electrical wholesaler.

PROSTAT3

PROSTAT3 is a durable, tamper-resistant, industrial thermostat with an adjustable rage from 0°C to 30°C.  The PROSTAT3 is capable of switching loads up to 30A which means that it can control a 6kW heater directly without the need for a contactor.

The thermostat is IP65 rated allowing it to be installed in damp locations and areas subject to ‘hose down’.  Air temperature is generally monitored by the thermostat’s built-in black bulb sensor although a choice of alternative sensors for remote mounting are available.

PROSTAT4

The PROSTAT4 shares all the features of the PROSTAT3 but offers two temperature settings.  Typically, the ‘background’ setting would be used outside business hours, perhaps for frost protection, while the ‘comfort’ setting would be used during business hours for comfort heating.

The Settings

The ‘background’ setting is the default setting.  The ‘comfort’ setting can be selected in one of three ways.

  1. Use the push button on the front face of the thermostat to activate the PROSTAT4’s integral run-down timer.  Once the pre-set time period has elapsed, temperature control will revert to the low setting.
  2. Use a remote-mounted push button to activate the thermostat’s integral run-down timer.
  3. Use a remote mounted programmable timer.
