I am a homeowner, do I need an electrician to install a PW kit?
-
Our PW plug and play pipe freeze protection kit comes with a 3 pin plug meaning it’s safe for a homeowner to install. You simply attached the cable to your pipe with the PF-T fixing tape, lag your pipe with insulation then plug the cable into a socket. (insulation is the foam textured material that goes around your pipe and can be widely purchased from builders merchants)
-
Is this cable going to melt a plastic pipe?
-
This cable will not melt a plastic pipe. If you have a plastic pipe, it is important you wrap AL-50 aluminium tape around your pipe before installing the cable as aluminium tape helps to disperse heat evenly across your pipe.
-
Do I wrap the cable around my pipe?
-
Ideally, you run the cable in a straight line along the bottom. It is important you do not cut the cable or overlap it.
